I am delighted to be able to formally introduce myself as Chief Executive of Q3 Academies Trust. I would like to thank you for the hard work and community effort that has been taking place at each Academy prior to and since the beginning of September.
Students, you may have noticed me at your Academy during the first two weeks of term, when I was kindly welcomed by your Head of School. It was encouraging to see that you have been able to adapt whilst responding to a new and ever-changing “normal”.
You will be aware of the recent measures that were officially put into place on Tuesday 15th September in Sandwell, Birmingham, and Solihull, as part of the move to Tier 1 and the Government’s national intervention to tackle a rise in Covid-19 cases within these areas. I have every faith in the Q3 Academies’ community, but please ensure that we all take extra care and precaution when adhering to these new measures.
We have recently updated our Covid-19 Checklist and Risk Assessment in line with new Government guidance which states that face coverings should be worn by adults and students when moving around the premises, outside of classrooms, such as in corridors and communal areas where social distancing cannot easily be maintained. Please refer to the Q3 Academies website to see the full Covid-19 checklist and risk assessment.
Rest assured that Heads of School are working tirelessly to ensure the safety of staff and students is a top priority. I am delighted to be a part of such a strong leadership team who places education at the heart of everything we do.
I would like to take the time to thank you for your ongoing response to Covid-19 and the uncertainty it continues to bring. I am well and truly impressed with how everybody has handled its challenges.
I look forward, when possible, to meeting the wider Q3 Academies’ community as I visit each Academy.
Mr Andrew Martin
